The Blue Willow line was one of Allerton's most well-known designs. A timeless pattern influenced by Chinese mythology and aesthetics, it narrates the story of two star-crossed lovers who, in order to avoid an arranged marriage, transform into doves. Usually, the design consists of a landscape scene with a bridge, a willow tree, and other symbolic objects.
