About the Artist: Farnham, born January 23, 1846 in Silver Creek, New York, embarked on his art journey at age 12 and later studied at the prestigious Munich Academy and the Royal Academy of Bavaria with renowned artist Frank Duveneck. He proudly represented his profession as a portrait painter by showcasing his work in major U.S. cities such as New York, San Francisco, Philadelphia, and Chicago. In 1886, he settled in San Diego, California, yet remained connected to his roots in Buffalo and frequently visited there while traveling to Europe. The talented artist passed away on July 20, 1922 in San Diego, leaving behind a diverse collection of portraits, figures, and landscapes in both oil and watercolor, often capturing the ethereal beauty of late afternoon scenes.
