The Elgin National Watch Company of Elgin Illinois opened its doors in 1866 and within a decade became known for their craftsmanship, producing an estimated 100,000 movements per year. Elgin became best known for producing the "working man's" mid-grade watches, however, they also produced a number of high grade watches. This lovely watch has a desirable configuration and is considered a fine grade.
