Design Details: Classic Hummel designs of a young boy and a young girl, facing in opposite directions. Both are seated on the ground with legs extended in front of them, holding open umbrellas extending over their heads. The girl wears a muted blue smock dress with clusters of dots. Her umbrella is a shaded reddish brown with paler stripes near rim. The boy is dressed in dark grey/black shorts and an orange & black check shirt
While the design for both figurines was registered in 1951, the girl figurine bears the Hummel Trademark 2, used between 1950-1955, featuring a capital 'V' with a large bee in the top opening. Her underside is also marked "Copyright by W. Goebel" and "Germany" in a separate stamp. 152/B and 1951 are impressed into the bottom. The boy has an impressed mark of 152/IIA. He is marked in blue with Goebel's TMK-5, used from 1972-1979.
