Condition: Excellent pre-owned antique condition. A small chip on underside of one compote base, not visible when piece is upright. Please see photos.
Details: Two clear glass compotes and one centerpiece bowl in the "Hexagonal Bullseye" pattern. Vertical sides of all pieces feature a row of concentric hexagons joined at the side with a sawtooth edge. A repeating diamond design forms the lower curved surface of the bowls with a row of glass balls forming the "feet" of the bowl. Compotes stand on solid glass pedestals with a vertically slashed accent over a plain rounded foot. Visible marks from three-part molds. Some small bubbles and creases from the molding process.
Due to the discovery of natural gas deposits, Findlay, Ohio became a center for glass production in the 1880's. Beginning in 1865 in Williamsburg, West Virginia, the Dalzell, Gilmore & Leighton Company was the largest factory producing household items in Findlay.
