Details: Pair of adorable antique piano babies by Gebruder Heubach in Germany. The company got its start in 1840 with founders Goerg Christoph and Philipp Jakob Heubach and became the best known makers of piano babies. Piano babies were originally made in larger sizes to hold a shawl on a piano. Gebruder Heubach made these and others in at least three sizes. Both of these piano babies are little boys dressed in nightgowns trimmed in aqua blue. The sitting baby is incised with a GH mark on his lower back. The laying baby has marks on the underside of the base. The markings on these pieces are those from 1882-1915.
