Dimensions: 25.5” Long x 15mm diameter
Condition: Good pre-owned condition. Crown is distressed but still in good shape and very detailed. Wood shaft is slightly curved from age and has minor imperfections throughout. Wood originally had a metal tip, but it is missing. Please see photos.

The Royal Northumberland Fusiliers was an infantry regiment of the British Army. Raised in 1674 as one of three "English" units in the Dutch Anglo-Scots Brigade, it accompanied William III to England in the November 1688 Glorious Revolution and became part of the English establishment in 1689.
The motto “Quo fata vocant” is the motto of the Royal Northumberland Fusiliers, which translates to "whither the fates call".
Swagger sticks were once in vogue in the United States Marine Corps, starting as an informal accessory carried by officers in the late 19th century. In 1915, it gained official approval as recruiters were encouraged to carry them to improve their public image. This tradition grew when Marines deployed for World War I encountered European officers carrying swagger sticks, leading to an entry in the uniform regulations in 1922 authorizing enlisted marines to carry them as well. The usage died down in the 1930s and 40s, with the exception of China Marines, and came back into vogue with a 1952 regulation encouraging them, reaching a peak from 1956 to 1960.
