Condition: Very good. Some damage to spine and cover corners. Minor wear on covers. Front flyleaf removed. Please see photos.
Details: Dark blue cloth-bound edition of Partisan Life with Mosby by Major John Scott. Signature on front cover and spine lettering and decoration stamped in gold. Spine decoration includes crossed swords at top over "Partisan Life with Mosby" and "Scott" then "Illustrated". A charging mounted knight is stamped in gold at the bottom of the spine above "Harper & Brothers". A 7/8" segment of the spine at top is missing, a smaller tear on the spine below Mosby is also missing. There is noticeable wear on front edge and bottom of spine, as well as the corners of the covers. The back cover has a couple small areas of discoloration. The front flyleaf has been torn out. Two engravings of Mosby, one as a younger man and one in uniform, are protected by onionskin on the pages leading to the frontispiece. There is a handwritten signature and date on the frontispiece. The remainder of the book and its illustrations are in very good condition.
