Condition: Good to very good antique condition. Very slight signs of wear on interior and exterior. Bindings are tight. Despite the wear at edges and corners, there is remarkably little fading, the exterior covers and interiors are bright. Very minor shading of paper. A couple of back endpapers have worn into, there is rubbing and wear on edges and corners. One volume shows tearing at top and bottom of spine. Please see photos.
Details: Bottle-green cloth bound books with gilt decoration and lettering on spine, red, black and gilt decoration on front cover. Art Nouveau-style lettering in titles. Impressed signature on back covers. Bottle-green endpapers. Engraved wood and steel illustrations. This is part of a larger set of volumes made available through subscription. The books display references to Lothrop and Routledge as publishers, so this was probably a collaboration.
