An excellent artist and businessman, Ulisse Cantagalli took over the operations of his family's Florence pottery in 1878, renaming it Figli di Guiseppe Cantagalli. It was then that he began to produce and became known for his Renaissance-style ceramics. After his death in 1901, his wife and daughter took charge and with the help of the remaining artisans, continued to produce quality work. The golden era of the factory ended around 1910, before the company's sale in 1934.
