About the artist: Ludwig Muninger was born in the countryside of southern Germany in 1929. After years of intensive study in France, Italy, Switzerland, and Austria, he established himself as a master of landscape painting. Embracing the rich tradition of renowned Dutch artists from the 18th century, as well as the celebrated Dusseldorf and Munich style of the 19th century, Muninger's winter landscapes set a new standard of excellence in the mid-20th century. Today, his original masterpieces are revered in galleries and private collections around the world. In 1957, prints of his works were first introduced, soon becoming coveted pieces in thousands of homes. In December 1976, "DECOR" art magazine graced its cover with one of Muninger's captivating motifs. The artist passed away in 1997 at the age of 68.
