Details: “Cromwell” was patented by Gorham in 1900 and is known for its simple yet elegant design featuring a small shell motif and reeded sides. This particular piece was produced by Gorham but sold through Cartier, the luxury brand known for jewelry and watches. It was common practice for high-end retailers like Cartier to commission and retail silver from established manufacturers, often applying their own retailer stamp alongside the maker's hallmarks.
Hallmarked on bottom with the Cartier stamp, Gorham trademark (lion, anchor, G), "STERLING", and the item number “1998”.
