A rare, 1915 Goodwin No. 1A folding camera. It comes inside a genuine leather Eastman Kodak carrying case.
This combination is fascinating for collectors. Hannibal Goodwin invented flexible film and had a famous, high-stakes court battle with Kodak. Finding a Goodwin camera stored inside an official Kodak case makes this a phenomenal piece of history.
Condition: Untested / As-Is: This camera is strictly UNTESTED and sold AS-IS for historical display, collection, or parts. We do not know if the shutter fires accurately, if the lens glass is clear inside, or if the bellows leak light.
Details:
- Camera Body: The camera looks great on a shelf. The leather handle on top is worn but you can still clearly read the word "GOODWIN".
- Lens: The lens board says "Goodwin Film & Camera Co." and "Nº 1A GOODWIN R.R." It has adjustable dials for speed and aperture.
- Bellows: The black leather folds are intact and look good for display.
- Leather Case: Made by Kodak. The brass button works perfectly and features the classic "EKC" logo stamped on it. The leather strap shows age-appropriate cracking.
- School Sticker: The front of the case has an old green and gold foil sticker from Whittier College in California. It reads "Sigillum Collegii Whittierensis".
