Condition: Excellent pre-owned antique condition. No chips, cracks, or crazing. Very minor gold wear at edges and a few tiny scuffs on the transfers. Please see photos.
Details: Set consisting of seven plates and one gravy boat with attached underplate. A different fish in an underwater scene is the focus of each plate circled by sprays of roses and small blue flowers. Rims are trimmed in gold. The gravy boat continues in the same motif with a small fish scene on each end. The bottom of each piece is marked "LS & S CARLSBAD" in a circle over "AUSTRIA", all in blue.
Lazarus, Straus and Sons operated from approximately 1895-1917 in Carlsbad, a town in Bohemia that was part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
