Details: Chauncey Jerome was a major innovator in the American clock industry, known for mass-producing inexpensive brass clocks with interchangeable parts. His company, the Jerome Manufacturing Company, became the largest industrial employer in New Haven at one point. Clocks bearing the "Jerome & Co." label from this time are rare and date to a brief period around the mid-1850s, just before the company went bankrupt in 1856. This is one of the rare “Jerome & Co” Labeled clocks.
