Condition: Good vintage condition. A number of small chips throughout and a couple of small cracks radiating from inside the lip. Minor crazing on interior. Beautiful, vibrant glazes. Please see photos.
Details: Large cachepot with an Art Nouveau swirling design. Vibrant colors of Cream, cobalt and burgundy with pink, pale blue and light brown. Overlapping swirls and curves with a smooth pink foot and irregularly scalloped lip. Some curves and details picked out in gold. Marked on bottom with an incised L and what appear to be a model numbers, as well as "Eichwald".
Eichwald Pottery, or B. Bloch Pottery was established by Bernhard Bloch in 1871 in Eichwald, Bohemia (now Dubi, Czech Republic). It became known for its Art Nouveau and Art Deco majolica pottery, figural pieces and smoking sets. It continued to operate under names like Eichwald Porcelain and Stove Factory after World War I until the factory was confiscated by the Nazis during World War II.
