A pristine pair of Oberwerk 25/40x100mm Long-Range Observation Binoculars (Serial Number: 169262). These are iconic, military-grade "giant binoculars" originally derived from a classic Carl Zeiss border-guard design. They feature a dual-magnification system, simply rotate the rear mechanical turrets to click instantly between wide-angle 25x power and high-power 40x viewing.
Condition: The optics and physical binocular housing are excellent near mint condition. The item has only been unboxed and tested a couple of times and has spent its life securely stored. The glass is immaculate with zero scratches, haze, or fungus, and the internal prisms are perfectly collimated. Please note: The original outer soft suitcase/foam insert shows shelf wear, the handle is split from holding the 26lb weight of the unit over time, and the zipper pull is no longer present, so the case does not zip closed. The strap buckles function to keep the case closed and the case is still excellent for protecting the binoculars for storage. Please see photos.
