Original case shows expected external wear and scuffs, but is structurally sound. The interior plush lining shows age expected discoloration and wear. Of the three latches, one latch does not fasten, but the remaining two function properly and keep the case closed. Please see photos.

Overview:

A beautiful piece of American brass history: a professional-grade 1924 Buescher True Tone Model 9 Bb Trumpet. Manufactured in Elkhart, Indiana during the peak of the Roaring Twenties jazz era, this horn is a stunning survivor kit featuring gorgeous, intricate hand-engraved floral patterns running along the bell section with the classic "The Buescher / Elkhart Ind." block lettering.

Key Features & Details:

  • Low Pitch (LP) Stamping: Stamped "LP" on the second valve casing, meaning it is factory-tuned to the modern A=440Hz standard. Unlike "High Pitch" vintage horns, this trumpet is completely compatible with modern tuners, bands, and ensembles.

  • Smooth Mechanical Function: All three vertical valves compress smoothly and pop back up freely.

  • Historical Patents: Stamped with the original Buescher Bell Patent date of PAT. OCT. 29. 07, protecting their legendary acoustic bell flare design.

What’s Included:

1. The 1924 Buescher Model 9 Trumpet (Serial #161586)

2. Vintage Conn 4 Cornet Mouthpiece: A highly prized mid-century professional mouthpiece featuring a deep cup that produces a broad, rich, resonant tone. It is a traditional short-shank design that pairs seamlessly with this early Buescher receiver design.

3. Original Hard-shell Case: Features its original, vibrant green plush lining. Latches function as they should, showing beautiful vintage wear.  Interior shows age and some discoloration.  Exterior of case in excellent vintage condition with minor wear.

4. Vintage Mute: Included inside the case compartment.
