A beautifully preserved piece of 19th-century American horological history. This full-sized Waterbury Clock Company Ogee (OG) Weight-Driven Shelf/Wall Clock dates to the late Victorian era and is in remarkable, collector-quality condition.
Most importantly: It is running strong and keeping excellent time!

Mechanical & Running Condition:
  • Movement: Features the original Waterbury one-day (30-hour) weight-driven brass movement.
  • Performance: Tested and verified—runs beautifully and functions exactly as it should. It ticks with a strong, even beat.
  • Strike Train: Features a deep, resonant cathedral wire gong that strikes the correct count on the hour.
  • Weights: Driven by its traditional dual cast-iron weight system.

Cosmetic & Case Condition:
  • Dimensions: Measures a prominent 15.25” Wide × 26.25” High × 4.25” Deep.
  • Cabinet & Veneer: Features a gorgeous rich mahogany veneer. It boasts a beautiful, uncleaned original finish and patina. There is some very minor, typical age-appropriate veneer loss along the edges, but no major peeling or structural issues.
  • Dial Face: The original painted metal dial features the highly desirable central starburst cutout and prominent black Roman numerals. The legendary intertwined "W.C.Co." monogram trademark transfer is completely intact just above the hand arbor.
  • Lower Door Glass: Retains its stunning original reverse-painted (églomisé) lower door tablet featuring a classic late-19th-century scenic pair of owls beneath a crescent moon. The gold leaf geometric stencil frame shows fantastic contrast.
  • Interior Labels: The interior backboard retains large, authentic fragments of the original manufacturer's paper labels. It clearly reads "Waterbury Clock Company..."and specifies "ONE-DAY STRIKE. O.G. WEIGHT," identifying it as a 1-day model with offices listed in New York, Chicago, and Glasgow.
