An authentic, die-struck Imperial German Bravery Medal from the Grand Duchy of Hesse. This award was issued during World War I for military bravery in action under Grand Duke Ernst Ludwig.

Condition Report: The medal features crisp details on both the portrait and the surrounding oak/laurel wreaths. It has developed a beautiful, natural deep silver patina/toning over the last century, showing authentic blue and purple hues in the recessed areas. The medal has not been polished or cleaned, preserving its original collector value. The original soldered suspension loop has been replaced with a looser steel jump ring, as shown in the photos.
