"The owner of this clock was my grandfather born in Kansas in 1889 and moved to the Eastern Shore of Maryland, where he became one of the first CPA’s. He was a Mason.
He was the owner of the famous George Washington Hotel, a landmark on 10th Street & Boardwalk in Ocean City. (1940’s to 1990’s). The big blue hotel was 80 feet high, with eight stories and was believed to be the largest wooden structure in Maryland.
My grandfather loved baseball, so he bought a hotel in Bradenton Florida, The Robert Whitney Hotel. There he could watch Spring Training every year before the official season started.
My father worked in the hotel during summers through college. It was at The Robert Whitney hotel where he met my mom, a writer from England.
My Grandfather gave the clock to my father, and it lived in Williamsburg, Virginia for the last 50yrs."
