Item: Electrified Oil Lamps
Make: Austrian
Age: Circa 1849
Construction: Hand forged brass
Dimensions: 8” Diameter Footprint x 41” Tall (to top of harp)
Condition: Very nice antique condition with a rich, authentic patina throughout. Converted for electrical use, each offers an older, functional switch on the base as well as a socket switch. Please note that while both switches are fully operational, the integrated base switch on one lamp is loose and likely requires replacement for full mechanical restoration. Please see photos.
Details: Pair of large, high quality antique brass oil lamps, now converted for modern electrical use. Each lamp is anchored by a prominent Vienna, Austria shield plaque dated 1849. Likely crafted or distributed by a premier firm like Lampen Fabrik Gebruder Ditmar, these lamps are constructed from heavy, hand-forged brass and offer substantial presence. For ease of use they feature both an older, functional base switch and a standard socket switch, along with a replaceable harp to easily fit any shade style. Please note the photographed shades are not included.
