Item: Wall Clock

Make: Hamburg American Clock Co. (Germany)

Model: No. 248S

Movement: 8-Day, No. 248S - The "S" designation denotes its original factory Schlagwerk (striking/chiming) movement configuration.

Age: Circa 1905

Construction: Mahogany & Maple

Dimensions: 11 1/2” Wide x 18” Tall x 6 1/2” Deep

Condition: Very good antique condition. Running, keeping time, and chiming as it should. Less than 30 days running time since serviced by our local antique master clocksman.
Cosmetically it looks very nice. It is missing the bottom finials but these could easily be purchased online and added if so desired.  There is also an old phone number lightly scratched on the back left lower side. Please see photos.

NOTE: We take great care in packing our clocks for shipping.  Once your clock arrives it’s possible it may  need a minor adjustment due to the handling during shipping.

Chimes: Has a nice chime on the hour, according to the hour and strikes once on the half hour.

Details: This authentic 1905 Vienna Regulator features a mechanical, spring-driven 8-day movement with twin keyholes on the dial (key included) and a pendulum bob with "R/A" (Retard/Avance) lettering for easy time adjustment. The solid wood case exhibits a warm patina and light wear consistent with its age and is flanked by two elegant Corinthian columns. The top of the case is flat as shown, typical for this model variant or ready for a crown piece. The mechanical movement is intact with its original components.
The original face displays the iconic crossed-arrows trademark of the Hamburg American Clock Co. (known in Germany as Hamburg Amerikanische Uhrenfabrik, or HAC/HAU), and the original factory paper label remains intact on the backboard, clearly displaying the model number No. 248S.
