The Movement & History
The thick brass backplate is crisply stamped with the iconic Gustav Becker Crown and Anchor Logo, denoting production in the prestigious Freiburg, Silesia workshops.
  • Serial Number: 1830955 perfectly dates the assembly to 1912.
  • Technical Stamp: Stamped "P 42", calibrated for a precise 42cm pendulum drop.
  • Master Clockmaker Tailoring: This movement has been historicially custom-fitted ("married") to this specific magnificent case. To slide into the mounting forks cleanly, the lower left mounting tab was historically trimmed back. This beautiful vintage customization does not impact the mechanical performance but preserves two exceptional era-accurate pieces.
  • Pendulum is adjustable for timing calibration.
The Case & Esthetics
The dark walnut case features a striking original finish with a deep, gorgeous antique patina. The side flanks are accented by exceptional diamond-patterned parquet wood panels and pressed-brass ornamental cartouches. The bottom corners include authentic brass wheel-style leveling stabilizers to adjust wall pitch and maximize pendulum swing clearance.  Has all its original hand rolled glass.

Chime & Performance
  • Fully overhauled, well-maintained, and running smoothly. Keeps excellent time.
  • Strikes cleanly on a massive, resonant cathedral wire gong.
  • Chimes once on the half-hour and counts out the full hour progression sequentially on the hour.
  • Note on Placement: Because the movement rests securely inside the mounting forks without an aggressive hard lock, the user just needs a tiny bit of careful alignment when hanging to ensure the pendulum swings beautifully and hammers clear the coils cleanly. Once balanced, it stays in its "sweet spot" perfectly.
Excellent Antique Condition. The mechanical gear train is exceptionally clean, recently serviced, oiled, and fully operational. The wood case shows standard, light historic finish wear consistent with a 114-year-old piece but boasts an exquisite, untouched dark luster. The clock is running, ticking, and striking perfectly. Winding key is included. Please look closely at all high-resolution pictures to evaluate condition specifics.
