A stunning, authentic pair of mid-century modern Murano art glass fruit bookends/sculptures. Crafted using the famous sommerso (submerged) technique, these pieces feature a rich, warm amber core encased in a thick, vibrant aqua-blue layer, finished with beautifully textured, clear ribbed leaves and stems.
This set features the highly sought-after, rare "Jumbo" oversized variant, making them significantly larger and heavier than the standard sizes typically found on the market. Furthermore, the pear retains its original, flawless red-and-gold scalloped vintage import foil label: "Venetian, Made by Alfredo Barbini for Weil Ceramics & Glass, Murano, Italy."This provides rock-solid provenance and historical authenticity that collectors highly look for.
Dimensions & Weight:
  • Pear: 7 1/8” Height | Weight: 1,688 grams (3.72 lbs)
  • Apple: 5 1/8” Height | Weight: 1,693 grams (3.73 lbs)
