A stunning, authentic 1920s Art Deco enameled "Dresden baby mesh" flapper evening dance bag. Crafted in Germany during the Roaring Twenties, this pocketbook features an incredibly fluid metal mesh body screen-printed with a pastel floral geometric motif. The bottom edge terminates in a classic, period-accurate zig-zag stylized fringe.
The purse is mounted to a gorgeous, highly detailed die-stamped gold-tone filigree frame. It is crowned with a premium kiss-lock clasp accented with two deep, dark sapphire-blue glass cabochon stones that catch the light beautifully. Stamped "Made in Germany" inside the frame canal channel.

Excellent antique structural condition for its age. The chainmail mesh body is 100% complete with absolutely NO holes, gaps, pulled rings, or detached links. The metal frame and chain handle are secure, and the jeweled clasp snaps tightly and firmly shut. Please note: The main body of the original silk interior lining has naturally degraded over the last century. However, authentic 1920s cream silk remnants remain securely attached around the inner perimeter of the frame channel. This serves as excellent historical proof of authenticity and provides a perfect blueprint template for a future fabric restoration if desired. Enamel paints remain bright and beautifully visible.
