Condition: Good. Has some significant chips to the bottom rim as well as on the top. Discoloration consistent with age. Please see photos.
Details: Porcelain sake barrel, white porcelain with plum blossoms and sake distributor's name in brown, blue, and black glazes. Molded straw rope design mimics earlier vessels that were bound in rope. Two porcelain loops on shoulders for hanging open top (lid missing). Dispensing spout at bottom front. These barrels would be returned to the distributor for refills.
