A spectacular, statement-sized antique swept-corner gilt frame featuring an incredibly deep, high-relief acanthus leaf and scrolling design. This is a true period frame crafted from heavy plaster/gesso over wood, perfect for art collectors, antique dealers, interior designers, or anyone looking to create a premium antique mirror conversion.
Housed inside this magnificent frame is a high-quality mid-century commercial vintage canvas reproduction of the famous 1904 French masterpiece "Tenderness"(Tendresse ) by the celebrated French Belle Époque painter Paul René Schützenberger. The canvas features a beautifully aged faux-craquelure finish that gives it an incredibly rich, convincing period appearance from the front.

Condition Report:
- The Frame: Excellent antique condition for its age. Structurally solid, robust, and very heavy. Shows minor hairline age cracks in the deep crevices of the gesso (standard for authentic plaster-on-wood frames) which only enhances its authentic vintage character. A little missing scrollwork.
- The Canvas: Clean and tight. It is a single-layer canvas securely attached to a mid-century wooden stretcher bar with vintage metal staples on the reverse side. The back of the canvas is a clean, uniform light tone typical of mid-20th-century commercial showroom art.
