This instrument is a composite assembly featuring a Triebert upper joint body matched with a genuine Henri Selmer Paris bell. It is stamped L.P., indicating it was manufactured to standard international Low Pitch (A=440Hz).This is an excellent project piece for a vintage woodwind restorer, collector, or technician looking for rare, authentic French replacement components.
Maker markings & stamps:
- Upper Joint: Stamped with the classic circular logo: "TRIEBERT / BREVETE / A PARIS". Also clearly stamped "Bb" and "L.P."
- Bell: Stamped with the iconic authentic wreath logo: "HENRI SELMER A PARIS / MADE IN FRANCE" with the lyre emblem.
Condition report: This instrument is being sold strictly AS-IS / FOR PARTS OR REPAIR. Please review the photos carefully. The Selmer wooden bell features severe, deep vertical cracks running straight down the front face (visible in photos). It will require pinning, banding, or professional gluing to be made airtight. The Triebert upper joint wood shows normal surface wear but appears structurally intact. The vintage keys feature an aged, unpolished patina with heavy tarnish. The pads and corks are old and will require a complete overhaul/re-pad before the instrument can be played.
