A beautiful, high-grade German bracket clock manufactured by the renowned Black Forest firm Winterhalder & Hofmeier (stamped "W&H Sch" on the internal backplate). Built in the traditional English Georgian bell-top style, this impressive timekeeper features a heavy, dark-stained oak case, an ornate brass dial face with subsidiary control dials, and functional pierced brass side and rear acoustic sound frets.
Mechanical Condition:
- Timekeeping: EXCELLENT running condition. It starts easily, ticks strongly, and keeps perfect time.
- Chime Sequence: The 8-day movement chimes beautifully on a resonant internal coiled wire gong. It chimes progressively on the quarter hours: 1 strike at the quarter-past, 3 strikes at the quarter-to, and 4 strikes plus the full hour count on the top of the hour.
- Note on Mechanism: On the half-hour mark, it strikes once instead of twice. It catches up perfectly immediately after, striking three times on the following quarter. Aside from this minor sequencing quirk, the mechanical movement is incredibly robust and functions wonderfully.

The solid oak case is in gorgeous antique condition with a rich, deep patina. The grain highlights are stunning. Brass hardware and the top carrying handle are securely mounted. The back door features its original stamped brass grille screen and acoustic fabric lining. The glass on the top left corner has a tiny chip that is only noticeable if pointed out.
