Details: Beautiful white porcelain oyster plate with shell shaped depressions made to hold five oysters. C.T. Altwasser mark in blue on the back. In 1845, Carl Tielsch established the Altwasser plant. It quickly rose to become Silesia's second-largest porcelain manufacturer. The plant employed 1,400 people after 20 years. The Tielsch factory's products gained rapid recognition for their superior quality and aesthetic qualities. Their caliber was on par with Berlin or perhaps Meissen porcelain manufacturers.
