Charles Boyton was a notable silversmith working in the early nineteenth century in the Clerkenwell area of London. The firm flourished and moved to Northampton Square in Clerkenwell in 1849 under Charles Boyton II, changing its name to Charles Boyton & Son. Charles Boyton II passed away in 1899 and the firm forged ahead under his grandson Charles Holman Boyton until his death in 1904. The firm became a limited company in 1919 as Charles Boyton & Son Ltd.
