One small hole has been drilled into the side of the base prior to glazing, a corresponding hole runs through the base ring on the underside. Metal adaptable candle grips are placed inside the candleholders. Both are marked on the underside with Herend's blue Hungary mark, used between 1915 and 1930, and 7915/FR.
Introduced in the 1850's, Market Garden incorporates over 30 motifs that may be used in any combination at the discretion of the artist. This pattern was often assigned to early Master Painters, so that they may hone their skills.
