Condition: Fair pre-owned antique condition. Front cover is detached. Both covers have frayed edges and wear. Outer layer of the back cover is beginning to pull away near the binding. Pages are somewhat yellowed with a few small tears and minor spots of discoloration. At least one page seems to have been torn out. The binding is still quite strong with the exception of the front cover and first page. Please see photos.
Details: First written in 1418 by Thomas Kempis, The Imitation of Christ is one of the most widely read Christian spiritual books in existance. L'imitation De Jesus Christ is a poetical paraphrase produced in 1651 by Pierre Corneille, one of the three great 17th century French dramatists. It consists of four books written in meter and rhyme. This copy was a new edition published in 1715 with "Retouching by the author before his death".
