Details: Fabulous Mid-Century two handled serving tray designed by Frederick Buehner with black micarta insert. Handles and rim are aluminum. The Buehner-Wanner company was founded in Norwalk Connecticut in 1944 by industrial designer Frederick Buehner and his business partner Franz Wanner. Buehner emigrated from Germany to the United States in 1929, after which he developed a unique formula for using hammered aluminum which he trademarked in 1933 as Buenilum, a cross between Buehner and aluminum.
