Condition: Excellent. The silk prints are vibrant and have no fading or pulls. The gilt on the gesso frames is very good with some minor spots of discoloration and scratches consistent with age. Please see photos.
Details: This miniature pair of gilt wall plaques are of two famous 19th century portraits by esteemed artist, Sir Thomas Lawrence: “The Red Boy” and “Miss Murray". Both are some of the most reproduced images of a British children, appearing on numerous biscuit tins and chocolate boxes. “The Red Boy” was so popular it was the first-ever painting to feature on a British postage stamp!
