A stunning, vintage Mottahedeh Tobacco Leaf Dinner Plate measuring 10 7/8 inches in diameter.
This is an official, historically accurate reproduction of the famous 18th-century China Trade porcelain pattern, authorized by the Metropolitan Museum of Art (MMA).
Crafted by the renowned artisans at Vista Alegre in Portugal, the backstamp features the clear "82" date code, indicating it was manufactured in 1982.
The Tobacco Leaf pattern is one of the most celebrated and extravagant porcelain designs ever created, featuring a brilliant small phoenix bird perched among large, overlapping leaves of the flowering tobacco plant. This plate showcases the design's signature, vibrant 27-color palette and elegant 22-karat gold highlights.
