Age: 1880

Construction: Solid Walnut

Condition: Excellent antique condition. Less than 30 days running time since serviced by our local antique master clocksman.  Running, keeping time, and chiming as it should. Cosmetically very nice. Originally had finials under the top arch but those are missing. We like the look without them, but you could easily find replacement finials. Please see photos.

NOTE: We take great care in packing our clocks for shipping.  Once your clock arrives it’s possible it may  need a minor adjustment due to the handling during shipping.

Chimes: Equipped with a traditional bell strike mechanism that tolls crisply on the top of each hour according to the hour, and once on the half hour.

Details:  The New Haven "Elbe" is a prominent 19th-century mechanical parlor and kitchen mantel clock produced by the New Haven Clock Company. Manufactured primarily during the 1880s (circa 1884), this model is highly collectible today among antique horology enthusiasts for its distinctive Eastlake woodwork and mechanical reliability.
Provenance: On the inside back wall of the clock the name “Fred Kimse” is branded into the wood.  We are told Fred was a collector of antique clocks. Charles Fred Kimsey Sr. (1916–2004) was a lifelong resident of Gloucester Point, Virginia, whose professional career revolved around differing precision mechanisms including heavy naval ordnance, mines, and torpedoes.
