Condition: Excellent antique condition. Both original head feathers are present, which are usually missing when these pieces are found. One of the feather quill points has been previously repaired. We have left this untouched, but it could easily be touched up with a natural bronze patina paint if desired. One mounting screw is missing from the bottom of each base, but the busts remain stable and secure. Replacement screws can easily be found at your local hardware store. Please see photos.
Details: Matching pair of authentic, original Arts and Crafts movement Native American bronze busts. These are highly desirable to collectors of early 20th-century Western decor. While many manufacturers during this era produced functional, flat-backed wares like bookends, this artist intentionally sculpted and cast these pieces in the round as freestanding, three dimensional busts. Highly authentic, they even retain the original foundry core residue and feature removable feathers.
