Condition:  Very good vintage condition.  Mats are faded/discolored.  Frames have very minor nicks, scratches.  Prints are in excellent shape. Please see photos. 

Details: Pair of matted and framed enhanced chromolithographs of woodland scenes with waterways in the foreground.  One print depicts a misty forest scene with a lone swan swimming in the foreground.  The other scene has a slightly more open waterway in the foreground, and a heron standing on the shore.  Both feature tall willowy trees in muted shades of greys, greens and brown with highlights of white.  The prints appear to have been enhanced with paint on the surface, giving the feeling of an original artwork.  

Edward James Duval (1838-1923) was born in Manchester, England and trained under his father, the noted portrait painter Charles Allen Duval.  He is best know for his landscapes in watercolor, often featuring lakes or streams.
