Condition: Very good. One candlestick head is slightly warped/bent down and has a visible dent to the outer edge of the base. All have minor signs of wear including small dings and hairline scratches throughout which is consistent with age and use. Please see photos.
Details: A rare, and lovely set of 4 matching “B" monogrammed Rose candlesticks. This particular set includes the removable candle inserts for easy cleaning. Each is stamped “STIEFF STERLING G / HAND CHASED CEMENT FILLED 159” on the bottom.
The Stieff “Rose" pattern, also known as "Maryland Rose", is a well-known sterling silver flatware pattern introduced by the Stieff Silver Company in 1892, the same year the company was founded by Charles Stieff in Baltimore. It is characterized by its ornate repoussé design featuring roses and foliage.
