"The Sarah Coke Candlesticks are adopted from archaeological fragments found at the Coke-Garrett site in Colonial Williamsburg unearthed in the layer of soil that dates back to the time when the site was owned by the Coke family. John Coke was a Goldsmith and tavern keeper. Coke left a personal estate valued at £772 when he died in 1767. His widow, Sarah continued to operate the house as a tavern after his death.”
