Condition: Good pre-owned vintage condition. Some loss of enamel on frame and chain. Small holes in mesh near bottom. Please see photos.
Details: Fine ring-metal mesh purse with decorative flange at bottom and hand-silkscreened pastel vertical stripes of light blue, pink and green. Hinged white-metal frame enameled in light French blue and celadon green in an Art Deco design. White metal and brass handle chain still carries vestiges of light French blue enamel. Frame closes with a kiss clasp. Stamped on inside of frame "WHITING & DAVIS MESH BAGS".
In the mid-to-late 20's Whiting & Davis produced very fine Dresden ring mesh bags, silkscreened by hand, which provided a dreamy, watercolor effect.
