Details: Rounded square dish tapering down to a smaller square foot featuring an Allover opalescent hobnail design, raised grid pattern inside foot on underside, and slightly domed fitted lid with barrel-shaped knob at center. Inside of lid and bottom of dish have a pebbled texture. Both pieces marked with pressed Imperial Glass (IG) at interior center.
The Imperial Glass Company was started in Bellaire, Ohio in 1901. It became a part of Lenox in the 1970's, but due to low demand, was closed in 1984. While the factory was eventually razed, the building that once housed the administrative offices became the Imperial Glass Museum.
